We are in a most merry spirit here as we enter this holiday season! It is my personal favorite time of year with all the hot cocoa, peppermints and Christmas songs that scatter the radio. As the year winds down, please remember to stay tuned as we prep our Favorites of 2019 Countdown! This time around, we go back to one of our first weddings of the summer, the Pethick - Paul-Hayter wedding, at the Red Cedar Farm in Poulsbo! Get ready for some farm fun!

A semi-early morning at the end of June met us with clear skies, farm animals, and a wedding party ready to go. After the arrival of the photo, video, hair and makeup teams, as well as the entire wedding party, a quick rehearsal finished off the first hour of the day. Before everyone got dressed to the nines, there was time to grab a quick bite. With bellies full, excitement started to become palpable.

Keeping things at a solid pace, everyone was ready for the first look in about half-an-hour. Exiting from the rustic barn, Alex approached her groom and greeted the speechless Jake. We got some shots of them around the courtyard and in front of the barn, where the two were all smiles. A little ways out on the road, the sun-dried grass and rock walls made for picturesque scenery.

The party joined a little later, and then the parents shortly thereafter. The men in their grey suits and pink ties looked utterly classy around the farmyard, while the ladies stunned in their array of pinks and purples. We were pleasantly surprised by the arcade in one of the buildings as well! And you better bet we got some shots of everyone playing pinball. The open grounds provided plenty of space for big games of cornhole.

The guests started arriving around 3, and were welcomed by a bar and hors d’oeuvres that they could snack on until the ceremony began at 4. Now that everyone had some food and drink in them, it was time for a wonderful ceremony full of loving vows and a few moments that will make you laugh and cry. When the magic moment happened, a bevy of bubbles filled the air to announce the newlyweds.

Some more photos followed, while the other guests headed on back for some shuffleboard and goat-petting. Signing their official wedding docs on top of a pinball machine, they truly were husband and wife. Dinner would begin almost immediately after, followed by the toasts from the mother of the bride, maid of honor and best man.

After the first round of dances, cake cutting, the bouquet and garter toss, and the shoe game, there was still plenty of partying to be had. A photo booth with pirate outfits and others helped provide lasting memories of the day, and there was little resisting the dozens of goats hanging out on the farm. Before we knew it, the day had come to an end and everyone was lined up with sparklers to send off the newlyweds!

Thank you again to Jake and Alex for choosing Best Made Videos® to film their wedding day! We hope your first five months of marriage have been great! Be sure to check back for more about the Pethick - Paul-Hayter wedding when we go Behind The Scenes!

Alex and Jake's story in their own words:

How did you guys meet?

Plenty of Fish

Tell us about the proposal!

On our way to the sounders game, on the ferry, during sunset, Alex (bride) was wanting to take selfies with Jake with the water in the background and while she was taking the selfies-he snuck the ring in one of the pictures : )

Why did you choose your venue?

I love goats and Jake loves the pinball room.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Everyone having a good time, the special 'before' moments between the groom and his groomsmen and the same with the women.
