Every wedding and video shoot has its own unique challenges and forces us to learn and re-adapt. Today’s post and lesson for clients and professionals alike is, FIRST LOOKS ARE THE BEST!
I love the first look! To me it is one of the most unique things to capture on video. I remember the first time I ever shot a wedding (I had attended numerous in the past but had never been part of the "behind the scenes" portion of the wedding) I had NO idea what a first look was. I thought, well this is strange and very orchestrated.
What I soon realized was how important (both practically and emotionally) a first look can be for a wedding couple. Logistics aside (it makes picture taking SO much easier when the bride and groom have seen each other before the ceremony and thus can take pictures together before everyone else arrives to the venue) I think it is really nice to give the couple a few special, quiet moments together in the midst of an action filled wedding day.
Obviously there is something to be said for seeing you bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle, but I personally think you have enough adrenaline flowing at that moment for it to stand out in your mind as important in its own right.
Either way you look at is, wedding videography is a great way to help you capture all of those special moments so you can remember and cherish them for all time!
