How did you guys meet?: We met on Bumble! The question that started it all: "If you could live in any TV universe, what would it be?" The dating app Bumble asks women to make the first move, and Juan Carlos was hooked! Conversations turned from the lifestyles of the rich and famous to alien scientists to sports. We looked forward to our virtual chatting daily as we continued to get to know each other through deeper conversations about family, goals, and core values. It was just before Christmas in 2017 when we decided to set our first date!
Our first date was on January 6th, 2018 at Black Cow Cafe in Pleasantville, NY. We met for coffee, talked for hours, and Juan Carlos lost track of time for so long he got a parking ticket :) The biggest test was when Erica put Juan Carlos' geography knowledge to the test by asking him to name all the states on a blank US map (she needed to be sure he knew which one was Minnesota because you know how these New Yorkers think NYC is the center of the universe). He didn't immediately run away at this totally bizarre request...and he got them all right.
One date turned to two turned to many more when we decided that we never want to go on another first date for the rest of our lives. Juan Carlos proposed on December 13th, 2019 in Madrid. He hired a professional photographer to give a walking tour of the city and take pictures, and he got down on one knee in front of the King's Palace, where King Juan Carlos I had lived from 1974-2014 - and Erica of course said yes!
We look forward to every day together, and we continue to share invigorating conversations and thrilling adventures. We hope to share this love with all of our friends and family on October 30th, 2021 when we promise each other to converse with love for the rest of our lives.

Why did you choose your venue?: We love the industrial vibe of WithinSodo! The open space and the flexibility to use all the rooms to create a nice flow of the day was perfect for our vision. (Plus Kate really sold the place!)
What are you most excited to see in the video?: We are hoping to capture the joy and faces of everyone at the wedding! Specific events we are excited for are the first look, the ceremony entrances, the first dances, and the toasts/speeches.
When and where's the honeymoon?!?!: We will be going on our honeymoon to Maui, leaving the Monday after the wedding
